Edson West Area Structure Plan. Council passed first reading of Bylaw 2282 – Edson West Area Structure Plan Amending Bylaw. The Amending Bylaw is a housekeeping item to capture the changes to Yellowhead County’s Land Use Bylaw and does not substantively change the context or purpose of the Area Structure Plan. A Public Hearing for Bylaw 2282 has been scheduled for November 15th, 2022, at 7pm in Council Chambers.
Municipal Energy Manager Program Final Report. Council has approved the final report for the Municipal Energy Manager Program as information. The program started in 2020 and was very successful over the past 2 years. In depth assessments were conducted on municipal buildings and many energy conservation measures were identified. This allowed the Town to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by about 32% compared to 2019 levels and save nearly $100,000 per year in saved utility costs. 2022 Tax Auction Reserve Bids. Council has set the reserve bids for the properties scheduled for tax sale on November 16th, 2022.
Operational Budget – Council Inquiries. A report outlining additional budget requests from Council was accepted for information. Some of the items include two summer students to assist with road projects, the annual inclusion of a skating loop for the community, dust control for the Willmore Park access road, and additional funding for full implementation of the Leisure Assist Program. The items will be discussed further during the operational budget review during the November 15th, 2022, Council Meeting.
