Now in its third year, the Town of Edson’s Sanitary Sewer Backflow Installation Program continues to offer homeowners important financial support to help protect their properties from flooding and sewer backups.

Launched in 2023 and expanded in 2024, the program now includes a 50% rebate for both:

  • Backflow prevention devices for sanitary sewer systems (gravity-based only)

  • Sump pump systems that discharge water outside your home

These upgrades are vital in helping prevent future water damage, especially during heavy rain and ground saturation events.

Program Highlights

  • 50% reimbursement on eligible installations
  • Applies to both sewer backflow preventers and sump pumps
  • Funding available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • Town inspection and approval required prior to installation
  • Reimbursement issued after proof of payment

Please note: This program applies to gravity-flow systems only, not lift station setups.

How to Apply

  1. Pick up or download an application form from Sewer Backflow Prevention/Sump Pump Installation Program: The Town of Edson

  2. Book a preliminary inspection.

  3. Hire a journeyman plumber with a valid Town of Edson business licence.
