THANK YOU

Posted on
The Town of Edson would like to express our sincere thanks to the many communities, volunteers, and firefighters that have been helping out during this recent wildfire incident.

While the work is far from complete, the support you have provided us has been invaluable.

The Municipality of Jasper and Town of Hinton quickly set up reception centres during the Edson and area evacuation and many citizens and businesses welcomed our residents with open arms.

While we’ll be able to do a more specific recognition later, thanks must also be given to the firefighters and support staff from across the province and BC that have been here working day and night to protect our citizens and their property.

It’s been heartwarming to see so many people come together during this tragedy. Local businesses worked incredible fast to reopen for the evacuees on their return and have been offering discounts and assistance for those that have been displaced.

Thank you to everyone that has been working incredibly hard in our reception centres and behind the scenes in the Emergency Coordination Centre in conjunction with Yellowhead County as well.

And of course, thank you to all of our residents for their patience and understanding as we have worked through this unprecedented situation. Your cooperation and support has been outstanding.
