Traffic Impact Notice: Sewer Bypass Installation

GS Construction will be commencing the installation of a sewer bypass starting on Wednesday, May 1st, 2024. The bypass will remain in place for approximately six weeks, during which time the following traffic impacts can be expected:

1.     Northbound traffic on 53rd Street, between 4th Ave and 6th Ave, straight through will not be impacted. Left turns onto 5th Ave will not be permitted.

2.     Southbound traffic on 53rd Street between 6th Ave and 5th Ave will encounter a complete closure. Access will be permitted for local traffic only (residents of apartment buildings and townhomes).

3.     Westbound traffic on 5th Ave, between 52nd Street and 53rd Street, will be restricted to right turns only.

4.     Eastbound traffic on 5th Ave, between 53rd Street and 54th Street, will be straight-through traffic; right turns will not be impacted, and left turns will not be permitted.
