Edson and District Leisure Centre Incident

Edson, Alberta, Sept 11, 2025 – Crews are currently working on repairs at the Edson and District Leisure Centre following an incident on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, in which a piece of equipment made contact with a wall of the existing structure.
There were no injuries, and only minor damage occurred to the interior and exterior wall of the skate sharpening room.
Repair work is underway, and we aim to have the room operational as soon as possible to resume normal services. Due to the vermiculite insulation, abatement is necessary during repairs and access to the room is restricted.
There are no structural concerns, and the building remains safe for regular use. Only the skate sharpening area is affected by this incident.
