Heads up, Edson! The spring freeze-melt is causing potholes and icy spots on area roads. Here is a list of contacts to report issues as you spot them.
For Town of Edson road issues:
- Public Works Department at 780-723-6461
- Report via the report-a-problem feature on our mobile app/website.
- If it's an after-hours emergency safety issue, dial 780-723-6300.
For highway concerns (including Hwy 16 through Edson) 2nd and 4th Avenues:
- Contact Ledcor at 1-866-453-3267 or the Edson district office at 780-723-8250. (Note: While the Town of Edson is contracted by the Province for street sweeping and some winter curb snow removal, all highways are maintained by the Province. More info: https://www.alberta.ca/highway-maintenance)
Good news: The Provincial Government has committed to pave Hwy 16 through Edson. While the pavement project isn’t finalised yet, the design is expected to be complete this year. While Town Council is pleased to see this project in the queue, they continue to lobby for increased maintenance and to get the paving done as quickly as possible.
