Edson & District Public Library - Soft Opening

The Edson & District Public Library is ready to open its doors to the public.

Today, the library is holding a soft opening as they work on bringing regular programming back online. An official grand opening celebration is being planned for September.

Come down to the library today and Friday from 10am to 6pm to see the renovation and to check out all they have to offer. The facility will be closed this Saturday. Temporary hours for the remainder of August will be Monday to Friday 10am to 6pm and Saturday from 12pm to 5pm.

This $3.7 million renovation project was a joint effort between the Province of Alberta, Town of Edson, Yellowhead County, and the Town of Edson Library Board through various grants and funding.

We’re also celebrating the official unveiling of our new library sponsorship. Our facility is now sponsored by Peyto Exploration & Development Corp. and will be recognized as ‘The Edson & District Public Library – Presented by Peyto Exploration & Development Corp.’ Peyto have been a great corporate partner, and we thank them for their community support in this facility and throughout the community.
