Smart Sensors Stop Sewer Backup Before It Starts

Posted on

On the evening of Friday, September 12, one of our sanitary manhole level sensors triggered an alarm, signalling a potential sewer backup in a monitored area. When our operator arrived on site, the concern was confirmed. The sanitary system was beginning to back up.

A crew was immediately dispatched to flush the affected line. The culprit? A significant accumulation of grease. Thanks to the early warning from the sensor, the issue was resolved quickly and effectively without any impact on local residents.

This incident is a great example of why investing in smart infrastructure matters. The manhole sensor played a critical role in protecting our community and maintaining the integrity of our sanitary system.

Only flush the 3 Ps — Pee, Poop, and Paper. Keep grease and wipes out of the pipes.
